Hi Allied! It’s #TelemedicineTuesday!
Yesterday was the 1 year anniversary of the day I started as Allied’s after-hours Virtualist, so I thought it might be fun to put a list together of what telemedicine visits I have had in the past year. Of course, this list doesn’t have every single visit, but it was fun to make, and impressive/nostalgic for me to look back at the year.
Here we go:
ADHD follow up, acne, allergies
Breastfeeding questions, bites/sting (mosquito, bed-bug, bee, wasp, human, dog)
Cough, conjunctivitis, croup
Diaper rash
Ear pain, eczema
Frost-bite
Gastroenteritis (stomach flu)
Head injury
Impetigo
Jaw pain
Knee pain
Medication dosage questions, motion sickness, mouth sores
Nosebleed
Otitis Externa (swimmer’s ear), Otitis media
Pinworm
Questions, questions, and more questions—ranging from newborns to kids in college
Ringworm, many other rashes
Sunburn
Throat pain
Urinary symptoms
Vomiting
Warts
X-ray necessary?
Yes, he can go to day-care tomorrow
Zika virus and other travel questions
I’m really proud of all that I’ve accomplished with Allied Telemedicine in the past year. Of all my visits, I’ve only had to send one patient to the Emergency Room, and very few needed to go to Urgent care. Almost all were able to be completely handled by the Telemedicine visit, or by a visit the next day to the patient’s Allied office.
Looking forward to what the next year will bring!
