Dr. Fauci has officially given the green light for Trick or Treating!
Here are some tips to help you keep your family safe during COVID, especially for those too young to be vaccinated.
- Stay outdoors:
COVID virus is less likely to spread in outside spaces.
- Stay in smaller groups:
If possible, walk with your “quarantine bubble”.
It is recommended for adults and children to wear a mask—a costume mask is not adequate and shouldn’t be worn over a protective mask as it may be difficult to breathe. Wear a Halloween-themed face mask!
- Skip the big candy bowl:
It is safest to “toss” candy into the bags of the trick or treaters instead of having children stick their hands into the goody basket. Have your child politely ask to have candy put into their bag when possible. Make prepackaged bags of treats to hand out. Avoid eating candy while walking to ensure clean hands when eating. Carry hand sanitizer and use it often. Like always, examine your candy before you eat it. Never eat unwrapped candy.
- Stay home if you are sick:
No amount of candy is worth getting others sick. Staying safe now will make for a better Thanksgiving and Holiday season.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN! HAVE FUN AND STAY SAFE!
