Jennifer Sanford, NP
I joined the SV Pediatrics team in 2004 after having spent the previous 5 years at Stony Brook University Hospital working on the Pediatrics Unit as a Registered Nurse. There, I met and cared for many amazing kids and families. I learned how truly resilient children are, and each day my experience further reinforced my love for working with children and my desire to care for them. I attended SUNY Geneseo for two years and completed my Bachelor of Science in Biology at Stony Brook University. I continued my studies at SUNY Stony Brook and attended the Accelerated RN Nursing Program. After having gained significant clinical experience, and wanting more clinical autonomy, I decided to further my education as a Nurse Practitioner and obtained my Masters of Science in Child Health. I have also worked as a nursing clinical instructor for Suffolk Community College at Good Samaritan Hospital. In 2011, life took me to another pediatrics office on the North Shore of Long Island, where I worked for 8 years and had the pleasure of taking care of fantastic families. Now I’m back and I’m so excited to rejoin my SV Pediatrics family. I’ve already come in contact with such great families and have been reunited with many of my old patients. It is truly awesome to now see them all grown up! I am the mother of 2 wonderful boys and share in many of the same joys and frustrations I am sure that the families we care for experience. They keep me very busy, but the years seem to be flying by too fast for my liking, so I do my best to savor every stage and every moment. In my spare time, I cherish spending it with my family and friends – whether it’s just enjoying quality time together at home or traveling to a preferably warm, tropical destination. I have a weakness for desserts and shoes. As my very patient and understanding husband will attest, I love, love, love to shop, and unfortunately for him, am quite good at it! Each day, I strive for excellence in whatever I do and am humbled and honored to be entrusted with the care of your children – your most precious gifts. I hope to provide our patients with the highest quality care and work with each family as a team to enable every child to thrive to their fullest potential.
