Hi Allied!
It’s #TelemedicineTuesday, and our first snow day of the winter here in Suffolk County (our kids had an early dismissal from school).
What I want to talk to you about today is how great this week in Allied Telemedicine has been!!!
Since last Telemedicine Tuesday, I have seen after-hours patients every single night (except Saturday, because that’s my day off ), and overall saw the most I have in any week since I started working for Allied in March 2018. Woohoo!!!
When we launched after-hours telemedicine, of course, there were growing pains, and tech issues to be resolved. But I just want to let you all know that if you tried a telemedicine visit with me, but the set-up was taking too long, or the tech wasn’t working, Please Try Again.
After-hours Telemedicine has become a well-oiled machine with my coordinators and I working as a great team to get you seen quickly.
On Average, this week, from the time a parent/patient (I saw a college student who did everything on his own) contacted my coordinator, till the time they were looking at my face for the visit was 15 minutes or Less!!! Wow!!! Quality care from a trusted Allied pediatrician in the comfort of your own home in under 15 minutes. How cool is that?!
I can’t promise that time frame every time, but #goals.
Here’s something I wrote after a particularly fun telemedicine visit this week:
Just saw an adorable 2 year old for a telemedicine visit for pink eye.
Mom had to leave the room to get a medication bottle for me to look at, and while she was gone she moved the phone so it was pointed at the ceiling instead of the patient.
Conversation between me and the cutie:
Cutie: "Doctor, where are you?"
Me: "I’m still here, but now I’m looking at your ceiling fan."
Cutie: "I’ll fix it." (and he moved the phone so we could see each other again and started chatting with me)
Soooo cute!
And this week, I saw my first Allied patient from Staten Island. That means I have now seen Allied patients from Riverhead to Staten Island, and all the way up to Syracuse (my patient in college).
I am really proud of how far we’ve come, and it’s only going to get better from here!
And with the ugly weather outside, perhaps tonight is your night to have a visit with me?!
Remember, for after-hours urgent care, think Allied Telemedicine!
