About Allied Foundation

Allied Foundation was founded in 2015 by a dedicated group of pediatricians from Allied Physicians Group, united by a shared commitment to making a meaningful difference in the community. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of individuals across our neighborhoods by increasing access to vital resources. We achieve this by offering newborn support for babies and moms, spearheading community education programs and service initiatives, and promoting early childhood literacy. Service to our community is the cornerstone of our work, and we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to positively impact the lives of those we serve.

What We Do

Clean diapers are a basic necessity for every baby. Yet, according to the National Diaper Bank Network, one in two U.S. families struggles with diaper need—the lack of enough diapers to keep an infant clean, dry, and healthy. At the Allied Foundation Diaper Bank, we are committed to changing this.

Our diaper bank provides immediate relief to families by offering clean diapers and wipes, free of charge, to those in need. We collect, purchase, and distribute diapers through a trusted network of 60 nonprofit, community-based partners. Alarmingly, the government does not classify diapers as an essential need, and no assistance programs—such as SNAP, WIC, or Medicaid—cover their cost.

You can make a difference. Donate today to support the Allied Foundation Diaper Bank and help keep babies healthy, happy, and cared for.

Donate Today

Consider donating your excess diapers! We gladly accept brand-new packages and open boxes with sealed diapers inside. (At this time, we cannot accept opened packages.) To arrange a drop-off within Nassau or Suffolk County, contact us at info@alliedfoundation.org.

Please note that Allied Foundation serves families exclusively through our network of community partners. While we are unable to provide goods or services directly to individuals, your generosity helps us reach those in need quickly and effectively.

We believe all children should have access to books and express the importance of reading together in their daily routine. By encouraging reading at a young age, we aim to foster a child’s healthy development by giving them the tools needed for academic success.

We accomplish our mission to foster early childhood literacy by providing books through our Reach Out and Read program and, with the help of our pediatric offices, by collecting books for donation through our partnership with the Book Fairies.

Donate gently used or like-new books to either of our two drop-off locations.

Andrew was a smart, kind, generous, and funny boy who accomplished many things. From a young age, Andrew had an undeniable charisma, a keen intellect and a genuine interest in others. He was a celebrity in his community and would converse with everyone from the lunch lady, the hall aide, the man behind the counter, to the chemo nurse. He asked about their lives and genuinely cared about their answers.

Andrew battled Ewing’s Sarcoma for more years than he didn’t. He spent his sixth birthday at Sloan Kettering exploring the playroom attached to an IV pole with chemotherapy. He had countless rounds of chemo and radiation, multiple surgeries, participated in several clinical trials, and even went to Germany for immunotherapy. He perfected the drive-thru brain surgery-in and out in 36 hours, then back to school and friends and his real life. Andrew was the North Shore High School salutatorian, earned four gold medals in math research and presented his paper on the Fibonacci sequence in Unilateral Quadratic equations at MIT. He was admitted to Hofstra’s prestigious B.S.-B.A./M.D. program because he wanted to study medicine and help others.

Andrew inspired others to support cancer survivors and cancer research through the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in which he was so passionate. He was the top fundraiser in the tri-state area for several years and helped raise over $125,000. Andrew inspired us through his story, his smile and his passion to help others. He was destined to become a physician and provide compassionate care as he had received. We seek to realize his dream, his passion for medicine and help those already on the path.

Andrew will forever be in our hearts and minds. To honor Andrew’s accomplishments, his philanthropic spirit and the extraordinary life he led.

The Andrew Fierstein Memorial Endowment will be presented annually to a pediatric resident enrolled in an accredited New York pediatric training program with an interest preferably, but not required, in private practice. Please submit your CV with this form to hedwards@alliedfoundation.org, including a personal statement no more than 350 words on why you are pursuing a career in pediatric medicine, your commitment to community service, and the impact an award would have on your education.

The Allied Foundation Period Project is dedicated and focused on improving access to menstrual health products for women and girls. Supporting such essential needs can have a lasting positive impact on education, health, and overall well-being.

  • 1 in 4 women have struggled to purchase period products in the past year due to lack of income.
  • Only 4% of women are aware of a local resource where free or reduced cost period supplies are available.
  • 1 in 5 low-income women report missing work, school or similar events due to lack of access to period supplies.
  • State and federal safety-net programs cannot be used to purchase period supplies.
  • Lack of access to period supplies is linked to using substitute products (toilet tissue), stretching product usage, and missing important events.

You can help support our efforts by hosting a period poverty drive, purchasing period products from our Amazon Wishlist or by donating online.

Help Save Lives—Donate Your Excess Breast Milk!

Do you have excess breast milk? You can make a life-saving difference for premature babies in need. The New York Milk Bank provides breast milk to preemie babies, offering them the best chance for survival and healthy growth.

Since the beginning, the Allied Foundation has been proud to support their mission by assisting with providing breast milk drop-off locations throughout New York. These drop-off locations make it easier than ever for mothers to donate their milk and help save the lives of vulnerable infants.

If you’re able to donate, or if you know someone who is interested, please consider becoming a donor. Your milk could make all the difference for a newborn in need.

Together, we can give these babies a fighting chance!
