Allied Physicians On Eligible Children and the COVID-19 Vaccine

The recommendations from the FDA and ACIP have been signed off on so that we can officially administer the COVID Vaccine to children ages 5-11 years old.

Currently, there are 28 million kids eligible in the US and more turning 5 years old every day.  Though we are happy with most conventional avenues to get children vaccinated in this fight against the pandemic, we as pediatricians hope that parents would prefer to have their trusted physicians administering the vaccine. With the current demand, we are doing our best to prepare and deliver for our Allied families.

Please keep in mind that because this vaccine is distributed by the state, the process to obtain the vaccine is quite different from our non-pandemic process and can be difficult. Many pediatricians have shied away from providing this vaccine because of tedious processes such as, applying to be a vaccination site with the state, waiting for approval, then getting spontaneous and unplanned calls about delivery. But at, Allied Physicians Group, we are better together, and we aim to provide our patients with the best service possible, including offering the COVID-19 vaccine to our families.

While pediatric offices are working hard to arrange times for all eligible kids to get their vaccines, please remember our offices and staff are still working to give flu vaccine, see patients and make sure all our sick patients are seen as quickly as possible. All the while maintaining COVID precautions.

As pediatricians, we are so excited to help protect more of our patients, but please, please, please, be patient, be kind, and know that our staff is doing the best they can!

Allied Physicians Group is excited to be at the forefront of vaccinating our 5-to 11-year-old patients to protect them from the spread of COVID-19. We are coordinating multiple mass vaccination sites in our communities, where we hope to vaccinate 1,000 children per day.

If you would like a deeper dive into the science behind the vaccine and to hear recommendations from trusted pediatricians, click here to check out our COVID Vaccine & Kids, Ages 5 - 11 Years Old Webinar!
