Kim Palmer, NP
Kim Palmer, CPNP, is a life-long Long Islander who was raised in Lloyd Harbor and currently lives in Locust Valley. She has a bachelor’s degree in English and went on to receive a Bachelor and Masters in Nursing, receiving her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree at Columbia University in 2001. While in graduate school, Kim worked as a registered nurse in a pediatric private practice. After graduating, Kim worked as a nurse practitioner at The Door, a non-profit organization in Manhattan, where she specialized in adolescent medicine. After the birth of her son Jackson, Kim took a few years to focus on being a parent. But missing her work as a clinician, she focused on opportunities in school nursing. Most recently, she supervised the Nurse’s Office at Friends Academy, where she was responsible for the full operation and oversight of the Nurse’s Office and its staff. She was also the sole COVID coordinator for the school, and while her job kept her busy, she got into the classroom as well, teaching 5th-grade health. Now, Kim is excited to be back in the fray and doing what she loves: providing exceptional care to children and those who love and raise them. Apart from being a proud mom to Jackson, who is off to his second year at college, Kim is married and is a passionate reader and hiker. And a fun fact: along with her family, she has visited 13 US National Parks. She loves to share her knowledge of these trips, so feel free to ask!
